Privacy policy
Effective 15 October 2026
The short version: Ampy collects no personal data. It has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. Your battery readings never leave your phone.
This policy covers the Ampy: Battery Widget app for Android ("Ampy", "the app") and this website. "We" and "us" means the team that makes Ampy.
What the app reads
To draw the widget, Ampy reads the battery information Android makes available to every app: level, charging status, power source, charging current and voltage, temperature, health, technology and, on phones that report it, charge cycles. This is read and used only on your phone. It is never sent to us or to anyone else.
What the app stores
Ampy saves your choices on your phone: the design, theme and options for each widget, and your charge alert settings, and whether Pro is unlocked. It also keeps a short record of recent battery levels on the phone to estimate the time left. None of it identifies you, and none of it is sent to us.
If you use Android's own backup, your phone may include these settings in its backup to your Google account so they come back on a new phone. That backup is made and held by Google under Google's privacy policy. You can turn it off in your phone's settings.
Purchases
Ampy Pro is sold through Google Play. Google handles the payment; we never see your name, email address, card or other payment details. The app asks Google Play only whether Pro has been bought on your Google account, so it can unlock it. Google's handling of the purchase is covered by Google's privacy policy.
Notifications
Charge alerts are off until you turn them on, and are created on your phone. The silent notification that keeps the widget up to date is also local. No notification is sent from a server.
Permissions the app uses
- Run a foreground service: so the widget can change the moment you plug in or unplug.
- Run at startup: so the widget keeps updating after the phone restarts.
- Notifications: requested only when you turn on a charge alert.
- Internet and network state: used only by the Google Play billing library to check and complete Pro purchases. The app itself does not connect to any server of ours.
What we do not do
- No analytics, crash reporting or usage tracking.
- No advertising and no advertising ID.
- No accounts, no sign-in, no location, no contacts, no photos.
- No selling or sharing of data, because we do not collect any.
This website
This website uses no cookies, analytics or trackers. It is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes basic request information (such as your IP address) to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse, under Cloudflare's privacy policy. We do not use that information to identify you.
If you email us, we use your email address and message only to reply to you, and delete the conversation when it is no longer needed.
Children
Ampy is a general audience utility and is not directed at children. It collects no personal data from anyone, of any age.
Your choices
Because we hold no data about you, there is nothing for us to access, correct or delete. Uninstalling Ampy removes everything it stored on your phone. Under privacy laws such as the GDPR and CCPA you are still welcome to contact us with any question about your data.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update it here and change the effective date above. If a change ever meant collecting data, we would say so in the app before it happened.
